Minutes.io – Pain-Free Meetings and Minutes Taking

Okay, so it’s not the most interesting subject in the world, but meetings are one of the world’s necessary evils. And the only thing more boring than many meetings is taking the minutes of those meetings. Minutes.io aims to help relieve a bit of the tedium of recording the proceedings of meetings by encapsulating it all in a funky Web 2.0 interface and simplifying the whole process down to its bare essentials.

Minutes.io is a web app that you use through your browser – you do not need to be online however, it’ll store everything locally and upload to the cloud once you get your network coverage back. There’s a brief instructional video on the site that explains how it works – you won’t need to view it twice.

Recording minutes is simplicity itself. You just tab down the various interactions in your meeting, recording initials against the person that was speaking. Once the meeting has concluded you simply file the minutes by clicking on the confirmation button and it’s automatically emailed to all the attendees. You can return to any meeting’s minutes at any time and/or print them out. Forthcoming features for the app include custom summaries,  file attachments (attach other files to the meetings of the minute prior to sending the email), integration with other to-do and project management apps and corporate customisation.
